[Music Monday] Britney, Nicki, Rihanna, & Beyonce

OMG I just can't handle it! I love Britney, I love her. And I love Nicki and I love Rihanna and of course, I love Beyonce and her performance was by far my fave. And I loved that all these divas work together :-) Wow, I'm so eloquent and profound. I'm working on a review of the new Foster the People release, Torches, which will hopefully be posted later today, but until then, enjoy these performances:

Britney looks fab.
Um, also I cried during the Beyonce tribute. So cute. AND HER PERFORMANCE IS EPIC. WATCH IT NOW.

[Music Monday] Britney Spears - "How I Roll"

It is no secret that I love Britney Spears. Maybe it should be. Maybe I should keep that to myself. Whenever I talk about how much I adore Britney, I get the usual "But she doesn't write her own music" BS. I don't care. I don't care that she can't write music. Do you think that the actual songs that she chooses to take on are "good"? Hell no. They're good because Britney puts her flirty spin on them and they turn into bubbles and glitter. Bubbles and glitter, I tell you!

Anyway, my ultimate point is that I love this song off of her new album, called "How I Roll." This is the quintessence of bubbles and glitter and bubblegum and kittens, and it kind of makes me want to squeal. You go, girrrl.

[Music Monday] Eagerly Awaiting Femme Fatale March 15

I absolutely love the title of Britney's new album, but that's also because I'm a total sucker for Britney Spears. Maybe it's because I feel like I grew up with her, only I got to keep my childhood while hers was manufactured and controlled by her managers, parents, and non-friends. I feel for the girl. But I also think she knows how to pick up a dance tune and make it ring through your ears just the way you want it to. Here's to femme fatales everywhere, and not being afraid of owning our femininity and being a wee bit intimidating in the process.
